About the Event
Total Distance (miles): 0.5
This wheelchair accessible trail is a gem to behold as these wild Rosebay Rhododendrons surround almost every inch of the trail and tower up to thirty feet above the forest floor. The Rhododendrons are generally in bloom the second week of July, so we will be a bit early. There is a sturdy, well-constructed deck extending along the path. Many comment that this trail has a feel of prehistoric times. Assistance will be available for anyone requiring it. Led by Ryan, contact friendsofpachaugforest@gmail.com for any questions.
This hike is co-sponsored with the Connecticut Forest and Park Association, the organization that overall manages trail maintenance of the state's forest trail system throughout Connecticut and also holds the annual Trails Day event.
