About the Event
Join members of Friends of Pachaug Forest to help us clear and maintain some trails! Did you know that our trail crew cuts up hundreds of fallen trees each year, maintains the blazes, and clears the paths on miles and miles of trails through the more than 27,000 acres of Pachaug State Forest?
Now’s your chance to get involved and help us get through a lot of our backlog! We’ll meet up, divide into teams, and hit the trails to take care of a variety of needs. After a few hours of hard work, we can get some R&R at the monthly FOPF campfire. We’ll reconvene in the morning to head back out again before wrapping up the weekend!
Open to all ages and skill levels. There’s plenty of jobs for all! Even if you aren’t comfortable on the trails, we need some support and road crews to help the teams on the trails. We will meet at Chapman Field and divide into teams and hand out assignments. Team leaders will take the crews out to hit the trails. We’ll bring our gear and supplies, but feel free to bring your own as well to supplement supplies.
We always need your help to keep an eye on the trails. If you spot a downed tree or other areas that need attention, please take a picture and send us the GPS coordinates (drop a pin or share your location) and we’ll make sure the trail crews are aware. Email us at friendsofpachaugforest@gmail.com or text updates to 860-303-7320. The more details you can provide, the better!
Please email us at friendsofpachaugforest@gmail.com or contact Amber at adg6283@gmail.com and we’ll make sure we find the answer, gear, or experts to help you out!
