About the Event
Pull up a chair and lace up your shoes to join your Friends to celebrate the first day of summer! We will meet at the CCC campfire area and start off with an optional walk to the bird overlook to enjoy the beauty of the forest. It's an out-and-back walk with a rest in the middle for a total of about 2 miles that will give us a chance to breathe in the fresh air and see some flora and fauna. In traditional summer solstice celebration form, we will also gather around the campfire and enjoy some summer snacks and beverages to welcome summer!
What to bring: A chair, sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle
Rain or shine event, although plans may adjust if there is rain.
