Heart of Pachaug Fall Foliage Hike

Join member Cheryl Lee for an autumn hike in Pachaug Forest, and top it off with a view of the partial solar eclipse. The hike will begin at the CCC Youth Field with a light meditation to raise our awareness and say thank you to the forest. It will cover approximately 3 miles of easy terrain, and include a question and answer, water and snack break. Along the way, there will be opportunities to hear and talk about how trees, birds, insects, and vegetation work together even when they are in competition with each other, for the survival of all. Upon completion of the hike, we will step over to Chapman Field to view the partial solar eclipse that will be visible starting at 12:13 pm. Protective eyewear will be available to ensure safe viewing. The eclipse should be in process through 2:38 pm and you are invited to watch it for as long as you’d like.

Bring a bag lunch and wear your insect repellant.
