Come and join Friends of Pachaug Forest on a round trip hike from Green Falls Pond Picnic area to the Dinosaur Caves. Enjoy exploring this unique rocky feature! This moderate hike has multiple elevation gains and losses. We will follow multiple trails to minimize repetition in coming and going, and will include a short side trip to visit the Peg Mill Trail Shelter. Bring water and snacks and good footwear. Friends of Pachaug Forest will provide lunch at the Green Falls Picnic Area to all participants after the hike. Although they are permitted, bringing pets on this hike is discouraged.
The meeting place for the hike is the Green Falls Picnic Area in Pachaug State Forest. The picnic area is right next to the Green Falls swim area and the campground. Enter the forest south of Voluntown on either State Route 49 or State Route 138. Follow the dirt forest…
