Lauren has been practicing her craft, painting and drawing subjects and patterns inspired by nature, especially the forest that she lives in, since 1983. Originally from Michigan where she attended the university of Michigan School of Architecture and Design, she ultimately received her degree in Fine Arts in 1989 from Eastern CT State University. At the same time, she is a self-taught naturalist. She has received certificates and advanced certificates in Master Gardening and Permaculture. She comes to Friends of Pachaug Forest with a passion to further its mission of protection and of education. Her latest creation, ‘Forest Friends: A Naturalists Coloring Book’ should be ready for publication in 2019. Proceeds will be shared to benefit Friends of Pachaug Forest.
