  • The Lost Silver Mine Horse camp in Natchaug State Forest is CLOSED due to limbs breaking off and falling in the campground. There are many dead trees and the DEEP has deemed it unsafe and has closed the campground until the logging job has been completed, which is planned to start sometime in the fall, but there are no firm dates. CHC will keep you posted. The trails are still open, so if you want to do a day trip, there is a small field just as you enter the camp. Please be careful and do not enter the camp. There is a back road that you can access the trails.
